A recipe – Tomato & Bulgar Salad : סלט עגבניות ובורגול

עגבניה היא פרי של קיץ או פרי של חורף? ו-24 מעלות סלזיוס בינואר זה קיץ או חורף?
אגב, מבחינה בוטנית העגבנייה מוגדרת כפרי, מכיוון שהיא מכילה זרעים ומתפתחת מפרח, אבל מבחינה קולינרית היא מוגדרת כירק.
מבחינתי עגבניה יכולה להיות פרי או ירק, בקיץ או בחורף, צהובה או אדומה - הכל הולך!

סלט עגבניות ובורגול

מרכיבים:
15‫-‬20 עגבניות שרי
3‫/‬4 כוס בורגול
3‫/‬4 כוס מים רותחים
כף זרעי חמניה
כף זרעי דלעת
כף צנוברים
1‫-‬2 כפות שמן זית
מעט מיץ לימון
מלח ופלפל

אופן ההכנה:

1. משרים את הבורגול בקערה עם המים הרותחים ומכסים למשך חצי שעה.
2. בינתיים חותכים את העגבניות לחצאים או רבעים (בהתאם לגודל העגבניות).
3. קולים את הצנוברים וזרעי החמניה והדלעת במחבת למשך כמה דקות.
4. מוסיפים את כל המרכיבים לקערה עם הבורגול, מערבבים ומוסיפים את שמן הזית, מיץ לימון, מלח ופלפל.
5. הסלט צריך להיות רטוב, כך שיתכן ויהיה צורך להוסיף מעט שמען זית (לא יותר מדי, שלא יהיה מר).

Tomato & Bulgar Salad
Ingredients:
15 - 20 cherry tomatoes
3/4 cup of Bulgar
3/4 cup of boiling water
1 tablespoon of sunflower seeds
1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds
1 tablespoon of pine nuts
1 - 2 tablespoons of olive oil
A little lemon juice
Salt and pepper

Directions:

1. Soak the Bulgar in a bowl covered with the boiling water for half an hour.
2. Meanwhile, cut the tomatoes into halves or quarters (depending on the size of the tomatoes).
3. Roast the pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and pine nuts in a pan for a few minutes.
4. Add all the ingredients into the bowl with the Bulgar, stir, and add the olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
5. The salad should be wet, so it may be necessary to add a little for olive oil (not too much so it would not to be bitter).

למשך שבוע אחד היה חורף אמיתי בישראל. חורף כזה, שכל מה שאתה רוצה, זה להתחפר מתחת לשמיכה ולצאת באביב.
אבל שעה אחרי שהתעוררתי התקשרה אחותי וביקשה שאאסוף את הבן הגדול מהגן וכמה שעות אחר כך כבר אספתי גם את השני. התכרבלות מתחת לשמיכה לא היתה לי באותו היום. במקום זה עשינו עוגה וקצת יצירה.
